Local Applicants

The Royal Falkland Islands Police offers a bespoke training course for local applicants new to policing. This course starts with four weeks of classroom based training followed by six months on the job experience with a tutor constable.

After the completion of the initial training package, local recruits will also be encouraged to undertake courses offered by the Training Centre including (but not limited to) First Aid, CSE Awareness, Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid. Regular Officer Safety Training is also provided.

Local recruits may also be offered training opportunities in the UK, to expand their skill set.
