Publication of Guidance on Child Abduction Warnings and Orders

As part of the Attorney General’s commitment to transparent working in the Criminal Justice System the following guidance has been published:

 

AGG42: The Attorney General’s Guidance on Child Abduction Warnings and Orders

 

This guidance compliments the Crimes (Amendment) Ordinance 2019 which came into force on 10 April 2019 and which provides the Royal Falkland Islands Police and the Criminal Courts with the power to issue child abduction warning notices and orders.

 

In accordance with the Constitution the Attorney General exercises the power to prosecute criminal offending independently of any other organisation and the Attorney General’s Guidance is a series of publicly available documents designed to assist agencies involved in the Criminal Justice System and demonstrate how prosecution decisions are made.
