Dave Roberts
Reserve Constable
David Roberts arrived in the Falklands in 1992 and joined the department on the 1st July 1994 with the introduction of 24 hour patrolling as part of A-Shift. He worked through the ranks to the role of Sergeant Operations until a career change October 2010, but remained as a reserve until 2015 when he had to leave the police, receiving his Long Service Good Conduct in 2013. Following another career change, he decided to return to serve the community in a role he deeply enjoys.
Some of David’s high points were the introduction of the DARE program which was taught throughout the Infant & Junior School and also the development of a Senior School aimed at those due to go off to college, then growing to a core part of the Personal Health and Safety curriculum. This was followed by the introduction of the SAFE email and answerphone service, which was available free to all youths for reporting any concerns or seeking assistance.
