ROYAL FALKLAND ISLANDS POLICE RIDE ALONG SCHEME

27th October 2021

ROYAL FALKLAND ISLANDS POLICE RIDE ALONG SCHEME
Residents are invited to take part in our Ride-Along scheme.
This scheme has been launched to allow us to give members of the community the opportunity to see how we work, as well as ensuring that what we do as a police service is transparent, open to scrutiny and feedback.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to follow police officers as they patrol the beat and attend 999 emergency calls across the Falkland Islands.
The Ride Along scheme can involve going out with our officers on foot and mobile patrols and in addition meet the policing teams and have a tour of the Police Station.
During a typical Ride Along, you can expect to see how our officers deal with local issues such as antisocial behaviour, how we work with partner agencies to keep the public safe, and the way in which we respond to emergency calls for help, plus much more.
You will also have plenty of opportunity to speak with the officer that you’re crewed with about their role and work.
If you’re considering joining the force in the future, or have a general interest in the day-to-day work that our officers do, this is a perfect opportunity to find out more.
Any resident interested should contact Acting Inspector Smith, email address ssmith@police.gov.fk
